As head cutter in the Marche atelier that produces the Edoardo slip-on, she decides which portion of each Tuscan suede becomes an upper and which becomes a trim — placing patterns to avoid the invisible scars a hide carries. In her thirty-one years she estimates she has cut over sixty thousand pairs; none, she insists, have been identical.
