Berivan Özcan, the founder of Azalëa Prime Homewear, she has always wanted to create versatile and comfortable garments that would allow her to move from her bed to her living room, without feeling unglamorous and simple.
Finding hard finding clothing and brand matching the criteria’s of being nice, comfortable and of high quality, adding to that being a mother of three children all under the age of 6, and a businesswoman, there’s not much time for me to take care of herself and so looking nice and being comfortable always seemed like a luxury she couldn’t have all the time.
So the journey to make the change started. Thus, Azalëa Prime Homewear was born.
Over the past year, Berivan has been preparing for this; meticulously planning and going back and forth with local sustainable partners and manufacturers to make sure the collection comes out great. Many days and hours have been put into making this dream come true.
It was important to create a brand that represented her personality and her believes. In Azalëa, they value transparency between the customers and them, as she hopes to be a sustainable and environment-conscious business.
The women collection is made of fine Italian fabrics while the Children’s collection is made of organic, GOTS-certified, bamboo, and OEKO-tex fabrics from USA, Italy and France. This also means personally investigating the working conditions and the nature of our products and all the details in between — from the boxes down to the clothing labels.
At the same time, AZAËLA aims to be a socially responsible brand. Berivan is proud to say that the products in Azalëa Prime Homewear involve no child labour and benefit women workers. All women, with new-born babies, working in her partner manufacturing company in Macedonia have the right to paid maternal leave. They also have their jobs waiting for them when they are ready to come back to work so they don’t have to seek jobs elsewhere. The manufacturer company pay their employees pensions and insurances. AZAËLA is the perfect ethical, sustainable, eco-friendly and slow fashion circular fashion business.
By providing opportunities to these women, she hopes to create an environment that empowers females and gives them a chance for a better future for themselves and their families.
Azalëa designs and make all our packaging sustainable, using recycled polyester for the labels, organic cotton bags that you can reuse and wash and not thrown away and we also did hangtags from FSC paper.
Another thing that Azalëa as a brand is really proud of it that 1% of all income that comes from sales through our website is donated to two organizations based in Greece helping refugees. See @eva2helpinghands and @salamaldeen on Instagram for more information about them.
Azalëa is a team, likes to support artists in their work, promote sustainability, ethical production and also taking first steps into SLOW FASHION. #slowfashion
Azalëa’s vision is to sell season wise and not chase after years and fast fashion. Azaëla’s customers should be able to buy whatever they want and whenever they wish.
As she launch Azalëa Prime Homewear, she hopes that you will enjoy our clothing line and feel as comfortable in our garments as you are in your own skin!
